Why:
The conflict between Darfurian citizens and the Janjaweed is centred around a desire for social, political, and economic domination. With only scarce resources left behind after independence from the British in 1956, to sustain the entire population many disagreements have been had.
How:
After many failed peace talks, the conflicts between the two groups has continued to progress up to this day. Also when progress was made when the "Justice and Equality Movement" (JEM) signed a ceasefire trying to take steps towards peace in the country, accusations were made that the Janjaweed are still bombing and raiding villages in Darfur. Along with countries surrounding Sudan like Chad, Egypt, and Uganda where many significant pockets of Darfurian refugees were camped.
